Hello, The Penners Followers, and blog followers,
I'm Jill Smith, the Co-ordinator of The Ten Penners,
For those who don't know, National Novel Writing Month is in November. https://nanowrimo.org. Many authors use it to write manuscripts of 1666 words per day. In April and July, you can Announce your project, either to write, edit, create or plan a manuscript. In November it's meant to be for writing only giving you a book 50,000-word book at the end of the month. I've written several manuscripts during this challenge.
Personally, I believe it is a great way to create a writing structure, make sure you write, and write some more. Time yourself so you can ensure you are getting somewhere. I tend to write my manuscript in November and then edit it in April and November. I send it off to Beta readers (friends in my case) and re-edit once they have come up with constructive criticism.
It's July now and I can tell you my current word count as of 18th of July is 28411 / 50000 total words.
Please let me know if you are doing Camp NaNoWriMo too and what you have been able to achieve during the challenge.
